Riverwood is a place for quiet walks, for bird watching, for enjoying nature and gardens. The Mississauga Garden Council offers a number of programs to help you make the most of your visit. Why not join us?Riverwood Programs
Education Naturally is one of our flagship programs. It is available to all elementary schools in the area. Please see the Education Naturally section for more details. We also offer a wide variety of adult and family oriented programs. Why not join us for a quiet walk to explore the world of bats or deer? Perhaps a hands-on seminar on pruning appeals to you. Programs are offered on weekends and during the week. Check below for upcoming events.
Coming soon will be a venue of programs offered to community groups that allows the group to select the program and time.
We also offer special Camp Programs at March Break and in the summer we parnter with ErinoaKids to offer Camp Riverwood. Details will be coming soon.
Stewardship programs offer the public and community groups a chance to get their hands dirty as they work to improve the environment. Some ongoing stewardship activies include controlling invasive species at Riverwood, bird feeding, tree planting, trail enhancement, frog, toad and turtle monitoring and new opportunities are constantly being added.
Gardening is another focus of the Mississauga Garden Council. New gardens will be added soon but in the meantime we offer programs for volunteer gardeners, scouts, schools (as part of Education Naturally).
